The New Media Journalists (NMJ) have sent a goodwill message to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), League Management Company (LMC), Nigeria National League (NNL), Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO), Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) and stakeholders in the country, to mark the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas celebration.

In an official statement signed by NMJ Protocol Officer, Charles Diya on Saturday, the body urged all football stakeholders to cooperate and work together for the good of the game.

"Football is a unifying entity that binds people together. We need to come together as a common unit to consolidate on the present achievements recorded so far in football development.

"The year 2016 recorded some highs and lows but the wayforward is what should be on our horizon. Football will continue to grow in this country with the help of the everybody."

"It is important to harness the existing synergy of our collective efforts to build a stronger capacity going forward," the statement said.

"We ended the year 2016 on a high as the Super Falcons won the African Women's Cup of Nations in Cameroon while the Super Sand Eagles placed second at the African Beach Soccer Nations Cup. Next year will be better for Nigeria in terms of success and development."
"It is our prayer that Christmas becomes a state of mind throughout the coming year that enables faith to overcome doubt, hope to conquer despair, and love to triumph over hate."

The NMJ urged Nigerian football community to unite, maintain peace and love one another in order to lay a strong foundation for a prosperous future.
